St Ita’s Church Of Ireland Bellaghy
This church consists of families from Bellaghy village and its rural hinterland who meet regularly in the church building to confirm and develop their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Every week on the Sabbath the Rector or, in his absence, a visiting clergyman or lay-reader conducts a service of praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God.
On the first Sunday of each month St. Tidas’ church services are Holy Communion where those that have previously received the ‘laying on of hands’ by the Bishop of the Diocese can fully partake of the Bread and Wine in solemn memory of Jesus Christ’s death and passion.
Our Services usually follow the format of:
Bible Readings
Two selected readings chosen from the Holy Bible which are linked to the later Sermon. The first reading is normally taken from the old testament and the second from the new.
The Sermons
Sermons are usually based on the previous Bible readings and bring a reflection of how daily life and God’s word interact.
Psalms and Song
Psalms can either be said or sang along with other well known hymns from the church hymnal or Mission Praise
